Description:
The position of Facilities Director requires comprehensive knowledge of safety protocols and agency regulations related to facility and grounds in the areas of maintenance, construction and remodeling. Strong leadership and supervisory skills, project management expertise, and extensive experience with multi-site multi-state management are required. Excellent written and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills are expected from the Facilities Director to manage a team of internal maintenance members and external vendors and contractors. Our Facilities Director will be responsible for hiring and/or overseeing vendors and subcontractors, supervising construction and/or remodeling, implementing safety protocols and guidelines, and performing regular safety checks for all facilities.
Essential Duties include but are not limited to:
- Performing routine maintenance around the school to maintain appearance including interior/exterior painting, carpentry work, and landscaping
- Minor electrical, plumbing and HVAC work for routine repairs and maintenance
- Applying preventative measures to the school to reduce the risk of future problems and fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
- Manage a team of internal maintenance and external vendors and contractors approved to assist with maintenance projects, and review, track progress and inspects contract work that conforms to safety protocols and licensing regulations. Supervise and lead all maintenance processes and operations for all Regions in partnership with leadership.
- Prioritize projects based on safety, urgency, licensing standards, budget, and time constraints, assign work out, and manage completion.
- Plan and coordinate with leadership regarding larger scope projects for the facility and discusses details with the Executive team as required.
- Research, recommend, and implement short- and long-term maintenance solutions and safety measures with an eye towards cost savings and efficiency.
- Recommend safety policies and procedures and the replacement of equipment or supplies as needed to ensure standards are met and write budgeted proposal for same.
- Manage the helpdesk ticketing system (HIPPO) to approve, assign, and review work completed.
- Ensure all facilities, grounds, and related equipment meets all health and safety standards in relation to the Facilities Department. Manage preventative maintenance and repairs including creating scheduled inspections of facility, grounds, and equipment.
- Maintain Key Performance Indicators, ticket response time and provide reporting to Executive team as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Status: Full-time, Exempt. Full-time Exempt employees are paid on an established annual salary and are not eligible for over-time compensation. Exempt employees are expected to fulfill the duties of their position regardless of hours worked but may expect an average work week to contain forty (40) hours Monday- Friday.
Job Location: State of Tennessee, with Travel between all assigned regional locations as needed for work to be performed.
Education and/or Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Safety and Maintenance management, project management, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of progressive experience, and multi-state supervisory experience required.
